If you're looking to be a part of a high performing, collaborative, and dedicated team, M Financial Group is in search of our next Financial Business Analyst to join our team.As a key member of the Finance, Reinsurance and Actuarial Services teams, this position will be responsible streamlining and automating benefit accounting reporting processes and creating benefit accounting reports. The ideal candidate will have experience in a pension analyst, business analyst, or data management role.RESPONSIBILITIES Pension Analyst - Help in the production of non-qualified benefit accounting and liability valuations, executive benefit statements and maintain our actuarial systems
- Manage projects; demonstrate accountability for ensuring elements of projects from multiple departments come together to meet project milestones and client deliverable deadlines
- Work with a senior actuary in the production of the client's annual benefit accounting report
- Work with a senior actuary in the production of benefit liability projections used in the development of a funding valuation
- Maintain and improve our various actuarial systems to enhance their efficiencies and credibility of our modeling software.
- Develop tools for administration and reporting using Excel, Python, and SQL
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years of related experience, previous pension analyst, business analyst, or financial experience preferred, but not required
- Strong computer proficiency including installing software, using command line programs, and scheduling tasks
- Experience automating repetitive tasks and analyzing data, preferably using Python and SQL
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical documents and reports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Member Firms, Carriers and fellow M Team Members
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude for customer service
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, drive, orientation to goal accomplishment
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to follow through on tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical documents and reports
- Hybrid work environment offering a blend of virtual/work from home and onsite days designed to support flexibility
- Normal office environment/desk assignment
- Extensive close work with spreadsheets, databases and data management reports
- Light/occasional travel
