Job Description

Raymond West is seeking a knowledgeable Business Analyst to join our winning team! The Business Analyst has various accounting responsibilities relating to the financial reporting of all three companies included in the enterprise, Raymond Handling Solutions, Handling Systems and Raymond Handling Concepts. This position will also provide broad support to the CFO and VP of Finance in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Purchasing card program management
  • Vendor Purchasing reconciliation
  • General ledger reconciliation
  • Job costing review / GP analysis
  • Audit support
  • Prepare month-end journal entries for financial statement reporting
  • Prepare various work papers to support annual Financial audit
  • Special accounting, financial or administrative projects as determined by CFO Treasurer

  • Must have a thorough understanding of the theory of accounting principles and an aptitude for working with financial and statistical data.
  • Must have the ability to reconcile and maintain the integrity of the general ledger through analysis and research.

  • Be able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees and managers in other departments.
  • Be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate.
  • Be able to communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and manufacturers both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess strong business math skills.
  • Possess effective listening and questioning skills.
  • Present a clean, neat professional appearance.
  • Be able to manage time effectively.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all matters.
  • Be willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent related work experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledgeable using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Proficient in Excel

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before vendors, customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
