The MineralTree Product Management Team is currently searching for a full-time, remote Business Analyst located within the United States. As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for understanding the MineralTree Enterprise Platform and diving into technical product roadmap initiatives. You will need to understand and document product systems to support future roadmap items while collaborating with engineering architects, quality assurance, and internal business team members. The Business Analyst will report to the Director of Product Management.
Responsibilities:
- Learn the needs of the industries we serve and understand how the MineralTree Products function
- Gather requirements from the organization to understand the Accounts Payable process, and work alongside Engineering to write detailed business requirements
- Educate Engineering teams on the AP Process, along with the problems our users face
- Analyze product usage and metrics to understand baseline needs of our userbase, and answer engineering questions
- Plan and prioritize the backlog to ensure that the scrum team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared stories
- Participate as a key member within an Agile team of developers, QA, and meet committed sprint timelines
- Document technical outcomes, features, and limitations of new services created in a non-technical representation
- Provide detailed project status reports and manage tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
- 1 to 2 years of professional work experience in a BA, Product, or Operations role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and committed to continuous development of product expertise and technical knowledge
- Passionate about building intuitive, scalable, products
- Ability to write clear, concise internal product specifications and requirements
- Ability to work independently and multi-task, and knowing when to ask for help
- Understand product data flows, technical systems, and business processes
- Strong written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and/or accounting systems desirable
- Knowledge of payment systems and rails (check, ACH, credit card, etc.) desirable
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and Data Management
- SQL, or ability to learn SQL quickly
- Motivated and capable to independently learn new technical skills required
- Database experience/classwork desirable
- Programming experience/classwork desirable
