BI Engineer II - Remote Eligible
This role can be based out of any one of our Chewy Corporate hubs (Bellevue WA, Boston MA, Minneapolis MN, Plantation FL, Hollywood FL, Dallas TX) or remote in the United States. Additional location restrictions within the US may apply.
Our Opportunity:
Chewy Customer Experience Analytics group is seeking a BI Engineer in to play a key role in building their industry leading Customer Service Analytics Platform. What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models, reports/dashboards/BI solutions for analytics and deep learning
- Implement data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes
- Provide on-line reporting and analysis using business intelligence tools and a logical abstraction layer against large, multi-dimensional datasets and multiple sources
- Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture
- Produce comprehensive, usable data set documentation, metadata, BI reports, Dashboards and insights
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience with BI/visualization tools like Tableau/Business Objects/OBIEE/Power BI etc.
- 2+ years of experience with enterprise BI data warehouse architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools
- 2+ years of work experience in building self-serve BI solutions, canned reports and enterprise level BI solutions
- 1+ years of experience with data modeling in large Data warehousing, data lake environment
- 1+ years of data science experience with building regression, classification models
- Exposure to Big Data stack environments (EMR, Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive)
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, SQL scripts and ability to extract data from various sources
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Position may require some travel
Bonus:
- Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
- Experience building on AWS QuickSight, ElasticCache etc
- Experience with statistical models and building predictive models from scratch
- Experience with building NLP and sentiment analysis

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $78,500 - $159,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
