With that said, research shows that women and other underrepresented groups apply only if they meet 100% of the criteria. GoodRx is committed to leveling the playing field, and we encourage women, people of color, those in the LGBTQ+ communities, and Veterans to apply for positions even if they don’t necessarily check every box outlined in the job description. Please still get in touch - we’d love to connect and see if you could be good for the role!

Do you want to utilize behavioral science to make healthcare in the United States more accessible and affordable? We are looking for a Behavioural Scientist to join GoodRx’s growing Behavioral Science Team.

The Role

As part of our team, you will apply behavioral science theories to execute research as well as design, analyze and interpret experiments in order to understand (and help change for the better!) user habits and behavior.

You will deliver business value by applying behavioral science principles to balance addressing critical customer and business needs. You will work closely with Product, Marketing, UX Research, Design, and Engineering to understand, evangelize, craft and apply behavioral insights that address some of the most complex user needs/problems in the healthcare space. Your work will impact how we engage with consumers across their healthcare journey, and provide critical input when developing compelling, user relevant marketing/product offerings and experiences. This is a highly impactful role where you will be able to directly influence how millions of GoodRx users are supported.

What You'll Do:

  • Use your expertise in Applied Behavioral Science to help create healthier short- and long-term behaviors through:

  • Behavioral Strategy: In collaboration with stakeholders, define the specifics of the target population and desired outcome behavior, including metric definition/status-quo measurement.
  • Behavioral Evangelism: Be the voice of behavior-based user questions across the organization and provide guidance and training on techniques to encourage a self-service approach to applying behavioral science.
  • Serve as a behavioral science consultant to teams across GoodRx
  • Behavioral Insights: Lead research (quantitative and qualitative) to uncover user needs & motivations as part of a cross functional team consisting of user researchers, product managers, marketers, designers and engineers.
  • Deliver fresh, business relevant behavioral insights that are brought to life through engaging storytelling in continuous dialogue, presentations and workshops.
  • Behavioral Experimentation: Leverage behavioral science experimentation techniques, theory construction and data skills to facilitate evidence-based product, marketing and design interventions clearly connected to the behavioral insights and outcomes defined.
  • Behavioral Impact Evaluation: Evaluate, analyze and present to what extent the designed interventions modify the existing rates of the pre-defined behavioral outcomes.

  • Actively learn from your colleagues, including clinicians, design researchers and strategists, content and experience designers, and business leaders, to broaden your own cross-disciplinary knowledge.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the researchers to create a research roadmap on a quarterly basis.

  • This role will start out reporting into Product, but eventually will be centralized under the Consumer Insights org.

Who You Are:

  • You have 4+ years experience as a Behavioural Researcher, ideally with some experience from consumer-focused companies, working with strategy across the user journey.

  • You have experience with the necessary analysis tools (R, Python, SQL) and research tools (Qualtrics, UserZoom, dScout, Surveymonkey, etc.); with specific experience bridging the gap between quantitative and qualitative data streams.

  • You are a dedicated advocate of a user-centred approach to product development.

  • You are biased towards action, hands-on creative super scrappy (quality) solutions and execution

  • You have experience operating autonomously in a fast paced environment

  • You excel in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques with proven experience leading complex research (e.g. questionnaires, sophisticated sampling and weighting strategies).

  • You are comfortable planning, scoping, conducting, analysing and communicating research.

  • You have experience designing product/marketing experiments or field studies

  • You are an engaging storyteller and communicator, able to speak fluently to business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders.

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree (with 4-8 years on-the-job experience) or MA/MS degree (with 2-5 years of on-the-job experience) in behavioral science, behavioral economics, social or cognitive psychology, sociology, human computer interaction or a related field.
