SQL Server Database Administrator

About the team:
The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) organization is seeking a Database Administrator. ETS provides a broad set of technology products and services to the GM IT organization.
About you:
- You have at least 3-5 years of experience as a DBA.
- Demonstrated 5+ years' experience working as a SQL Server administrator
- Strong fundamental knowledge in administering SQL Server
- Hands on experience scripting in PowerShell to automate SQL administration functions is a must
- Strong understanding of SQL database monitoring and performance tuning
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
- Experience with backups, restores and High Availability (Always on)
- Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
- Ability to develop automation and scripts to automate tasks and tools to reduce DBA manual touch points
- Performs open source technology tools research to improve the overall capability of the technology stack
- Contributes to direction of Azure cloud migration
- Develops standardization of documentation and researches new features and best practices
- Understand the DBAs challenges, deliver a technical solution that meets the unique needs of DBAs with innovation and automation
- Learn continuously, leveraging training resources and self-directed training, sharing knowledge and skills with rest of the team
- Completed multiple migrations/upgrades
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with automation/innovation
- Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Models GM behaviors and creates a winning culture.
Additional Description
Preferred qualifications:
- 3 years experience in building, migrating/deploying Azure cloud-based database and PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud & PostgreSQL is a plus
