Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the enterprise data strategy for the life insurance data platform
  • Develop domain driven data model
  • Build data access strategy to securely democratize data with the data hub and enable research modelling machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Supporting data layer enabled API platform
  • Building data catalog for machine learning and metadata management
  • Participate in enterprise level design board discussions Technical leadership mentoring for the data team
  • Provide status updates and reporting metrics to the program leadership and contribute towards ontime and onbudget delivery
  • Lead Enterprise Center for Enablement for data with guidance on latest technology tools data analytics platform
  • Architect design patterns that support data ingestion data movement transformation aggregation machine learning and data science
  • Develop and enforce data governance model for data lineage metadata management data quality data security reporting analytics and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new distributed data stores
  • Minimum 12 years of experience on Data Projects
  • Experience with AWS services such as Athena Glue Lambda S3 DynamoDB NoSQL Neptune Graph database Relational Database Service RDS ElastiCache Amazon EMR and Amazon Redshift
  • Experience with Big data platforms like Hadoop and the Hadoop ecosystem and Data Warehousing Data lake
  • Experience with one or more relevant tools Sqoop Flume Kafka Oozie Hue Zookeeper Solr Avro
  • Experience with one or more SQL on Hadoop technology Hive Impala Spark SQL Presto
  • Experience with Insurance data modelling standards such as ACORD Experience with loosely coupled architecture and asynchronous data transmission
  • Driving data management architectures involving batch microbatch and realtime streaming of data in AWS
  • Experience with PySpark AWS services like Lambda
  • Experience 2 years with Python in application of packages for machine learning predictive analysis etc
  • Experience working in agile environment leveraging advanced design and engineering best practices
  • Mentor and provide architectural guidance to multiple teams building innovative applications
  • Demonstrate broad solutions technical leadership impacting significant technical direction exerting influence outside of the immediate team and driving change


Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $[130kp/a - 150kp/a] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
