Responsibilities

Principal is seeking an Assistant Director - Analytics (Data Science)! As the Assistant Director you will lead a team of Data Scientists focused on machine learning, predictive modeling and quantitative techniques. Data science is a multi-disciplinary blend that involves machine learning/predictive modeling, algorithm development, data inference, financial/quantitative modeling, and optimization to solve analytically complex business problems. Researching and applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions.

In addition, you'll:
    • Manage multiple projects or work streams through all the cycles of the analytical continuum for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
    • Lead, design and communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to the technical team and get buy-in.
    • Act as the resident subject matter expert in developing innovative analytic methods that result in a technically superior product and/or create a competitive advantage, as well as creating design requirements and project timeline.
    • Lead research, evaluation, and recommendation of internal and external data sources and coordinate with data resources.
    • Serve as an enterprise innovation leader on data transformation, variable creation, variable transformation, etc., as well as best-practices in the creation of analytic
    • Serve as the leader in model development and validation analyses - from driving pragmatic practice of methods to devising novel solutions and diagnostic measures, to coaching and mentoring data scientists.
    • Lead the development and execution of methods to address needed business diagnostics; review, and aid productization and deployment.
    • Provide significant input to Machine Learning Engineering on implementation specifications and production testing.
    • Act as a leader to develop process and metrics to monitor model performance.
    • Review reports and make recommendations for needed model refits


Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in technical or analytical field, 7+ years of related experience
    • Deep knowledge of Statistics, Mathematics, Optimization, Machine Learning theory and quantitative techniques.
    • Expert in programming with languages like Python, R, SAS, SQL. Demonstrated proficiency with machine learning libraries such as SciKit-Learn,SciPy, Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch etc.
    • Ability to lead multiple projects from model design to deployment
    • Ability to develop, communicate and/or revise tactics to support changing strategies and direction. Excellent presentation skills; persuasively presenting ideas to multiple levels of stakeholders, including senior leaders
    • Extensive experience working with large datasets including structured/unstructured data
    • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and making decisions around the use of new or existing machine learning, data analysis, optimization techniques/tools for a project.
    • Demonstrated expertise in model evaluation, tuning and performance, operationalization and scalability of scientific techniques and establishing decision strategies.
    • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
    • Passion for picking up new techniques/technologies.
    • Self-motivated attitude and desire to work on applied problems.


Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$116000 - $162000 / year

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You'll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
