Associate Director, Oncology Insights & Analytics
Job Description

The Insights & Analytics Associate Director will have responsibilities across Global and U.S. for an oral oncology product (PARP inhibitor) currently being managed as a Business Alliance with another pharmaceutical company. Responsibilities in this role include both Primary Market Research & Analysis of Secondary Data.
The role will be accountable to deliver actionable insights to Marketing stakeholders to inform key business decisions. There is a significant leadership component to this position that includes synthesis of insights to inform strategic choices and tactical execution for the brand. Providing a 360-degree view of Brand Performance is essential. The position will plan, manage, and execute all Market Research activities for specific tumor responsibilities.
The role will require a high degree of business acumen and the ability to leverage both Primary & Secondary Market Research tools to influence Brand strategy. In addition, the individual is expected to proactively inform the business of growth opportunities based on market and customer insights.
The person who fills this role is expected to be an exceptional team player who can comfortably interact with and add value in a collaboration between two major pharmaceutical companies within an Alliance environment. The ability to navigate a large number of stakeholders is essential to success in this position.
The Associate Director will have demonstrated consistently strong leadership skills with an ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment. The person in this role must be solution-oriented, agile, and resilient. Primary stakeholders are Global Brand Marketing and US Brand Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Frame Key Business Questions to inform Brand Strategy and Tactical Execution.
- Lead insights-driven strategic forums and Brand Performance Reviews.
- Communicate insights and implications clearly to Senior Leaders
- Develop and oversee execution of Global market research plan to deliver deep, actionable insights for specific tumor responsibilities with a strategic mindset without direct supervision.
- Gain alignment with brand leaders and insights counterparts on both sides of the Alliance.
- Anticipate where the market is moving and how external events / competitors may affect the future landscape.
- Develop a cohesive "story" to connect insights from multiple sources including analytics from medical/pharmacy claims, EMRs, and Specialty Pharmacy / Specialty Distributors as well as primary market research.
- Seek opportunities for innovation with respect to primary market research, data sources, and analyses.
- Provide clear insights to inform Forecast assumptions and assess Brand Performance vs. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Comfort in prioritizing and managing multiple requests from large set of stakeholders
- Collaborate proactively with cross-functional business partners including promotions, digital marketing, advertising agency, precision medicine, patient marketing, and HCP marketing
- Take full ownership of understanding the business, informing strategic choices, and brand performance vs. targets
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree minimum requirement;
- Preference with an MBA or Post-graduate in quantitative methods.
Required Experience and Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in US pharma Marketing/ Market Research using both primary and secondary data sets
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Oncology experience preferred, especially in ovarian, breast, prostate, and/or pancreatic cancers.
- Knowledge of biomarkers (BRCA, HRD) is a plus.
- Global launch experience preferred.
- Experience in roles supporting sales, forecasting, competitive intelligence.
