Associate Director, Data Operations — Remote
Job Description:
Tinuiti’s data product, Mobius, is at the crux of everything we do for our clients from marketing strategy to execution and measurement. As we embark on the journey to take Mobius to the next level, Tinuiti is seeking an Associate Director, Data Operations - Data Services to lead and manage the growth of the Data operations function across Tinuiti’s data platform and products spanning production support as well as BI (Business Intelligence) operations. This role will work cross functionally with internal and external users, Product, Data Engineering and Data Quality teams with a relentless focus to ensure users feel supported and have the best experience.
Responsibilities:
- Own and grow all aspects of data operations including production support and BI operations related to new client and user onboarding
- Recruit, lead and mentor a team of talented data operations specialists and managers
- Build and lead the production support function and associated processes to be the primary interface with users for production issues, establish tiered support model and manage escalations
- Establish processes and systems in collaboration with Data Engineering to proactively monitor and alert all aspects of Tinuiti’s data platform and products
- Define and evangelize issue communication frameworks to ensure users are notified appropriately
- Establish and track SLAs for all data operations activities
- Ensure visibility of all operational issues and metrics to management and leadership and proactively identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
- Establish and evangelize operational best practices, frameworks and processes across all aspects of data operations
- Define and implement an engagement model with key partners related to production support, ongoing communication and escalation processes
- Collaborate with Product, Data Engineering and Data Quality teams to support ongoing development and participate in release planning, training and hand-off of new releases
- Establish good working relationships with stakeholder leadership teams to ensure their needs are being met
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience working in data or technical operations
- Demonstrated experience of running technical support teams and driving operational excellence
- Experience working with at least one selection from each category below:
- Modern Cloud Native Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio, PowerBi, Looker, Domo)
- AWS cloud platform experience
- Experience working with Python and SQL
- Experience with at least one of the following cloud monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk)
- Experience with at least one of the following project management and support helpdesk systems (Jira, HappyFox, Zendesk)
- Working in an agile environment with a cross functional and globally distributed team including offshore teams with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience working with modern data integration platforms such as (Fivetran, Stitchdata, Funnel.io, Datorama, Talend)
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with the advertising and marketing landscape is a plus
