The Associate Data Science role resides within the Ford's Model E organization. In this role, you will support the data analytic requirements of the product and feature development teams who are using analytics to achieve business outcomes including insights to accelerate our connected customer and connected vehicle initiatives.

You will be responsible for providing the data and analytics support for enterprise data integration tasks, including ingestion, standardization, enrichment, mastering and assembly of data products!

What you'll be able to do:

  • Drive the Data Strategy and align it with acontinuously changing business landscape.
  • Work with partner organizations to develop and manage metrics for Enterprise Connectivity.
  • Collaborate with all data analytics team members to streamline the data acquisition, processing, and presentation process.
  • Perform any necessary data mapping, data lineage activities and document information flows.
  • Provide analyses of connected vehicle data to support decisions on new product developments and production vehicle improvements.
  • Perform descriptive/exploratory/trend data analysis to derive critical metric insights using tools like Hive, Apache Pig, Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, PySpark, SQL and Alteryx.
  • Use connected data trends and special studies to understand customer and vehicle behavior.
  • Provide transparency to data quality/vehicle/feature issues and work with the business owners to fix the issues.
  • Implement an enterprise data governance model and actively promote the concept of data - protection, sharing, reuse, quality, and standards.
  • Build scalable and robust data workflows and visualization dashboards using data from various databases, applications, and files.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering orrelated field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 6+ months of experience performing Data Analytics or Data Engineering to create data products/ visualizations by writing codes/queries/scripts
  • 6+ months of experience delivering products or managing quality in a technical function
  • 1+ years of experience transforming, visualizing data, and scheduling workflows with Hive, Tableau/QlikView, Oozie and ETL tools like Alteryx

Our preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working within a complex business environment, including at least 3 years in a single function, with deep understanding of the information constructs of that business.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in conceptual thinking of how to apply information solutions to a business challenge.
  • Experience of applying problem solving capabilities.
  • Proven analytics capability to robustly examine large data sets and highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends.
  • Self-starter, demonstrating high levels of data integrity.
  • Excellent data and statistical analysis skills in Excel.
  • Ability to manage deliverables according to a robust project plan.
  • A proven curiosity in automotive electronics and how customers interact with our products.
