Job Description
Under close supervision, designs and implements processes and solutions associated with a wide variety of data sets used for data/text mining, analysis to support informed business decisions. Gains insight into key business and deliverables by examining structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources. With guidance, effectively uses current and emerging technologies to evaluate trends and develop actionable insights and recommendations to management, via the information available for analysis. Learning to use data, statistical and quantitative analysis, to drive decision making.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, operations research, economics or Finance. Demonstrated knowledge gained through course work or work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, operations analysis, marketing analysis, simulation development and/or predictive analytics. Proficient in analytics software and applications. Good Interpersonal skills. Good written and oral communication skills.
The mission of the FedEx Internal Audit Data Analytics (IADA) team is to integrate data analytics into the internal audit life cycle to meet the increasing scale and complexity of the enterprise. IADA develops audit automation solutions for its business partners via descriptive and predictive analytical models to provide insight and foresight.
The Associate Data Analyst will be a member of the IADA team, which presents risk insights in support of the execution of the internal audit plan and enterprise risk management. This individual's ultimate responsibility will be providing leadership in the planning and execution of a portfolio of risk-focused analytics. This role will also include the analysis of large data sets, the creation of descriptive and predictive analytics, the development of dashboards, the maintenance of IADA's analytics platforms, and the successful implementation of audit automation solutions. The Associate Data Analyst will also be responsible for supporting peers and collaborating with business partners to gather analytics requirements, design and develop solutions, and deploy complex analytical models.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:• Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and organization skills• Excellent communication skills in presenting to diverse audiences, including executive management, via data visualization dashboards and Microsoft PowerPoint• Commitment towards continued learning and development• Technical proficiency in relational database concepts and developing and executing SQL queries• Intermediate to advanced data mining skills in tools like Microsoft Excel and Python, or similar• Demonstrated proficiency in building data visualizations using tools like Power BI, or similar• Strong curiosity and analytical creativity to fully understand the root cause of a problem and find solutions through analytical and statistical modeling• Understanding business process controls and risks• Understanding of internal audit's strategic role in an organization• Familiar with design thinking concepts and customer driven design• Familiar with data privacy concepts and importance of handling sensitive information
