Job Description:
Description: The Applications Analyst is responsible for obtaining knowledge of their assigned application's functionality and for combining that knowledge with information technology and/or operational experience to build and maintain a system which enhances workflows. This position is also responsible for the design, build, testing, validation, implementation, and ongoing support of assigned application(s).
Typical Duties:
- Analyzes and complete service requests and provides application support for assigned applications and systems under guidance from senior analysts or management.
- Performs system configuration changes related to upgrades and vendor related fixes and notifications.
- Participates as a team member in selected projects under guidance from senior analysts or management.
- Participates in application unit level and integrated testing.
- Modifies existing reports and creates additional basic reports as required.
- Follows departmental processes, including but not limited to on call, project prioritization, status reports, security, documentation, change control, RCA, and time tracking.
- Support the network physician enterprise and clinical committees with service line operational and financial analytics providing reporting and outcomes as requested.
- Self manages projects, tasks and timelines ensuring that approvals from leadership are obtained.
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of business intelligence principles and industry best practices and makes recommendations to gain efficiencies in reporting processes and infrastructure.
- Assists in identification and research of data integrity problems and recommends solutions.
- Provides application documentation for support and training. Partners with customers to develop and administer orientation for assigned applications.
- Works to support all physician contracts, payment data, and external benchmark survey data routinely.
- Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or a related field of study from an accredited college or university and
- 2 plus years of experience in IT or Healthcare.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
- If required, must obtain current certification in assigned application(s). (i.e.) Epic certification in appropriate module(s) required within specified time frame following class completion and analyst who support Epic modules must maintain certification on current version of Epic.
- 4 plus years of related experience in a healthcare environment.
- License or Federal Registry in relevant health care field.
