What we’re looking for:

As a new member of a growing analytics engineering team, you aren’t afraid to wear multiple hats.  You are comfortable working across multiple tools and concepts to provide our analysts with the data needed to support their insights. 

You take a software engineering approach to data.  You believe that all processes in the data pipeline should be tested, automated, version-controlled, reproducible, and extensible. 

Most importantly, you are a lifelong learner.  At Public, we value a deep understanding of time-tested concepts over any specific tool.  

Who you are:

• Ability to turn complex business logic into clean SQL code. 
• Experience creating ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts (Star Schema, OBT, etc.).
• Experience with a data warehouse.
• Willingness to learn GCP.
• Passionate about user experience and solving problems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with a programming language. 

Bonus Points:

• Experience with dbt.
• Experience with Fivetran.
• Proficiency with Python.
• Experience tuning and optimizing SQL queries.
