Job Description Who we are...
The Platform & Tools Team serves as an internal consultancy partnering across lines of business to build analytics and reporting capabilities and help create industry leading consumption platforms. We are the voice of the business to our controls and tech partners and the SMEs to guide the business to productive use of the platforms. We lead adoption of new tools and platforms to create a unified best in class self-service analytics infrastructure.

  • Ensure business analytics & reporting needs are met through platforms, software solutions and enhancements
  • Improve the user experience, communities, automation, and features for platforms and analytics and reporting toolsets
  • Provide training to enable business users and assist in their support
  • Create and oversee controlled consumption environments
  • Serve
    • Data Consumers - Includes teams and applications that use data for any purpose, including data scientists, reporting team, analysts etc.
    • Report Consumers - Individuals that utilize curated insights and reporting to make informed business decisions.


Who we need...
A forward thinking candidate to be responsible analytics and reporting democratization strategies, data wrangling technologies (e.g. Alteryx), training, new tool evaluations, and developing purpose fit controls frameworks. Someone seasoned but well versed in new technology, who has been in the game long enough to knowledgeably make the right strategic moves for the organization.
What we expect...

  • Work with stakeholders of all levels and functions to determine requirements for consumption platforms, analytics and reporting tools, controls requirements and new capabilities
  • Identify key value measures for your product and drive positive ROI
  • Create, own, and prioritize a backlog of deliverables worked by the technology scrum teams to satisfy requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and train junior staff
  • Identify, mitigate, and remediate risks associated with self-service tool usage
  • Work closely with your engineering leads to form the self-service tool strategies including the expansion of the product to include all self-service tools utilized by CCB
  • Manage vendor relationships to influence their roadmap and effectively use contractually secured resources (training days, enablement days, product trials)
  • Future proof the product
  • Decommission products that no longer meet business needs or fail to meet ROI expectations. Provide migration strategy and direct communications to impacted business leaders.
  • Be a thought leader, developing solutions ancillary to the primary tasks (e.g. governance, entitlements, inventories, controls)
  • Query data and merge information from diverse data sources to create rich datasets that enable better decision-making
  • Analyze data using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx and SQL to develop and automate reports or analysis that lead to actionable business insights
  • Work with other Analytics teams and multi-task on projects to summarize and synthesize data and present recommendations to the businesses in a clear and logical manner
  • Identify unexplored data opportunities for the business to unlock and maximize the potential of data within the organization
  • Drive automation of new and existing processes
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and provide recommendations for testing new and emerging technology
  • Support ongoing technology evaluation process and proof of concept projects


Useful experience for your success...

  • Strong experience and excellent understanding of data wrangling on-prem (e.g. Alteryx) and cloud technologies
  • Experience with business intelligence dashboarding tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik or Business Objects
  • Experience with relational databases optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets, report creation and ad-hoc analyses
  • Knowledge of modern MPP databases and big-data (Hadoop) concepts
  • Experience with Hive, Spark SQL, Impala or other big-data query tools
  • Experience in reporting development and testing, and ability to interpret unstructured data and draw objective inferences given known limitations of the data
  • Demonstrated ability to think beyond raw data and to understand the underlying business context and sense business opportunities hidden in data
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions
  • Self-starter who can provide thought leadership and drive results in a dynamic and fast evolving environment
  • Effective despite ambiguity
