About the job
The Red Hat North America (NA) Services team is looking for an Analytics and Business Data Lead in a 6-9 month rotational assignment; at the conclusion of the assignment, you may return to your previous role or one of similar responsibilities. In this role, you will be supporting the NA Services Operations team with automation of reporting and work flows to support measurement of the business metrics. You will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and improvement of tools for the services revenue, including consulting and training, and bookings forecasting, backlog, utilization, headcount, and other larger initiatives currently being supported by the North America Services Automation and Analytics team. Furthermore, you will assist in the automation of processes like discount and deal approvals, attrition, and retention surveys and others.
This role is very unique and gives you an opportunity to bring in your technical talent around workflow automation, scripting, and overall programming to a business-oriented team involved in all major metrics around consulting and training business. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to translate business requirements and needs into a technical solution, keeping useability and stakeholder feedback in mind. You'll also need excellent communication skills and the ability to support multiple teams and regions for Red Hat's fast-growing Services team. Preferred metropolitan areas where the role can be located are Raleigh, NC, and Washington, DC, but other areas will also be considered.
What you will do

  • Continue developing data hierarchy with a high degree of autonomy
  • Automate workflows for a variety of internal teams with JavaScript best practices in mind
  • Manage third-party API integrations, data integrity, and error-handling to ensure seamless data reporting for management end users
  • Demonstrate passion for easing issues and clarifying ambiguity for others
  • Be comfortable at leading development efforts in a small but fast-moving team
  • Maintain services revenue and bookings forecasting files based on a complex hierarchy of Google sheets, scripts, and queries; link Salesforce.com (SFDC) and BI data
  • Maintain and develop custom SFDC queries, reports, and dashboards
  • Develop Google forms, sheets, and underlying workflow processes
  • Work with the Data Analytics team to move existing custom reports into a data warehouse and visualization tool


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, G Suite (documents, sheets, forms, etc.), Google Scripts, SQL queries, SFDC reporting, and BI reporting
  • Professional experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Professional experience with SQL and Excel queries
  • Professional experience with SFDCResults-oriented and motivated, with a sense of personal accountability
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact successfully with various stakeholders and customers
  • Professional experience with BI reporting is a big plus
  • Experience with Google Scripts is a big plus
  • Experience in services or consulting business is a plus
