The Operational Excellence organization operates within Global Commercial Services (GCS) to serve as the first line of defense to strengthen the risk and compliance program. One piece of the overall responsibility of Operational Excellence is the Operational Risk Controls, Analytics and Automation team, which is responsible for performing control assessments in support of new product launches, identifying opportunities to implement preventative application controls, developing and producing continuous/smart monitoring, metrics, and reporting while using Agile tools and framework.
This Analyst position is responsible driving GCS risk reduction through management of Process Risk Self-Assesment (PRSA) methodology. They will also partner with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense in the transformation of GCS Control Environment. Our team engages with the GCS organization and SMEs across the enterprise to assess risk and develop/test controls that mitigate the identified risks. To succeed in the role, the incumbent needs to have technical skills, process expertise, controls-mindset, solid project management, and relationship skills.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing Process Risk Self Assessment processes including continuous updates and refreshes.
- Drive Process Risk Self Assessment control transformation to preventative and automated as opposed to manual and detective.
- Support journey to Agile methodology by developing and tracking work effort every 10 weeks in JIRA to ensure timely completion of PRSA activities.
- Design and document controls related to new risk identified through Risk Asssessment Questionnaire, Compliance Risk Assessment items, 2nd and 3rd Line of Defense Reviews, etc.
- Support GCS Issue Management Team to implement sustaninable controls driving resolution to Risk Events and Corrective Actions dimishing ability of issue reoccurrence.
- Work with GCS New Product Approval team to complete the Compliance Assessment Teamplates for NPA initiatives.
- Partner closely with Compliance, ORGG, GCS Marketing, GCS Product Management, US Banks, CFR, GSG, EDA and Technology to ensure risks are properly/timely identified and mitigated through controls
- Support PRSA/Risk/Control questions from various GCS groups to ensure thoughtful analysis leading to potential enahncemets/additions to PRSA process
Qualifications
- Strong relationship competencies, able to collaborate, influence and manage through conflict to achieve successful outcomes with multiple band levels
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet tight deadlines, take initiative and act decisively
- Strong results orientation and have a proven track record of collaboration and building and leveraging effective relationships
- Capable of applying critical thinking to identify operational risks in a structured way, and develop and/or implement controls.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Agile Mindset and experience in using Agile tools such as JIRA desired
- Global Commercial Services/PRSA experience a plus
