Job Summary - (Role Summary)

The Analyst, Segment Performance for the Commercial Insights and Analytics team, is essential to understanding Business Travel Performance at IHG. You will be responsible for deriving data-driven insights to help guide pricing and programming strategies for business travel in all global hotels. In addition, as a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving analyses to help identify key drivers of revenue performance and business travel success. You will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and administration of automated reporting solutions and execution of reporting needs, data gathering, trend analysis and communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - (Key Activities)

  • Analyses internal and external data to refine and improve the analysis and the interpretation of performance data.
  • Actively participate in upcoming projects and project teams to proactively identify data, analysis, trending and reporting and requirements.
  • Manage and execute extraction of data from various sources and systems. Design, build, and run complex data queries for various reporting and leadership requirements.
  • Coordinates and priorities specific internal requests for performance data.
  • Evaluates and analyses performance trends and communicates to relevant stakeholders
  • Develops action-oriented insights to align with key priorities of relevant stakeholders.
  • Adept at the use of visualization tools including Tableau
  • Links key metrics from functions across the business including finance, commercial & technology, consumer insights to deliver decision driving insights
  • Delivers analyses and insights in a format that are appropriate, understandable, and easily consumable by the audience



What we need from you

Education -

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Decision Science, Analytics, Business, Marketing or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience -

1-3 years experience in analytics-related positions.

Technical Skills and Knowledge -

  • Analytical aptitude
  • Advanced use of Excel, Databases, Pivot Table, Powerpoint preferred
  • Proficient use of databases and statistical analysis software that supports quantitative analysis (specifically SQL, Teradata, Python, R-Studio)
  • Proficient use of data visualization tools and ability to produce quantitative and qualitative analysis using such tools (specifically Tableau)
  • Good at oral and written English
  • Demonstrated clear, concise, and succinct communication skills, including adapting both verbal and written communication to the needs and level of user
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform concurrent tasks that require technical and functional competence
