The Opportunity
This employee will use data management, coding, and reporting skills to build, analyze, and present information in support of Ally's main go-to-market program, Ally Dealer Rewards (ADR). Extensive business acumen and process knowledge will be obtained and used, as well as company and and industry trends. This employees will provide clear information regarding the enrollment, performance, payment, and exceptions applied to Ally's dealer partners. A clear understanding of the downstream business use is required to ensure success. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring all processes and procedures are executed with a risk-mitigation mindset. This position will work closely with our resident subject matter experts in the department to solidify approach and ensure success.
The Work Itself
• Participate in the design and implementation of data transformation models/engines using SQL, SAS, or Python
• Extract, cleanse, summarize, and create new data for business consumption
• Dedication to understanding the programs and details of the Ally Dealer Rewards products
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of data by creating automated testing scripts, ensure business requirements and rules are met
• Partner with department leadership to provide consultancy and translate business needs into automated, repeatable models
• Navigate, understand, and leverage existing complex data structures
• Create and/or maintain data dictionaries and process flows
• Address user questions concerning data integrity
• Proactively review data processes and procedures to expose and escalate risks. Develop risk mitigation solutions
The Skills You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or other computer technical fields of study.
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of:
o Query Languages: Python, SQL, SAS
o MS Excel, PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Power BI models and report building a plus
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and research methods
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow
