Job Summary

Located in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters, the Business Analyst will be a member of the Financial Planning Quantitative Analytics team responsible for analytical support of the Company's strategic initiatives, capital markets activities, budgeting and forecasting, asset management, corporate finance, and investor relations functions. As a member of the FPQA team, the Analyst will also be responsible for supporting other functional areas of the Company's business, including Operations, Accounting, Asset Management and Investment Management.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analytical support of all FPQA activities, including querying data, report generation, and coordinating with the Operations and Accounting teams to review, analyze, confirm, and report on financial results and operating performance metrics at both the property and corporate level.
  • Leverage tools such as KNIME, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel to build and drive analytics and to enable internal customer self-service on routine queries, as well as to design ongoing reporting and dashboards.
  • Produce and maintain on-going managerial reports of financial and operating metrics and support Non-GAAP external reporting requirements.
  • Participate in data management initiatives with the Technology Data Analytics engineering team to ensure the accuracy and validity of company defined measures and enhance the business user ability to analyze and synthesize data.
  • Define business and functional requirements of various initiatives or process improvement opportunities, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical designs align with requirements.
  • Participate in and support testing to ensure that project deliverables are completed and objectives are met.
  • Apply expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and create actionable recommendations.
  • Participate in, and contribute to, annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Support the creation and refinement of various quantitative and predictive analyses developed in the course of FPQA's financial and operational analysis, performance reporting and budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Track macroeconomic and market-specific performance indicators within a real estate market. Assist with collection, synthesis, and modeling of data in support of analysis of strategic initiatives and asset management decisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for the Company's management team, Board of Directors, current and/or potential investors, research analysts, and current and/or potential lenders.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials and memoranda presented to the Company's Executive Committee, Investment Committee and senior leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and strong academic record in data analytics, business, economics, mathematics, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree (MS Business Analytics, MS Data Analytics, MBA, ) a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum 0-3 years' experience in a business analytics/intelligence, data analytics or a similar role.
  • Experience in FP A, investment banking, private equity, corporate banking, experience and/or real estate focus a strong plus.


Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • High degree of proficiency with Excel required, including comfort and familiarity with advanced Excel functions.
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data, identify trends, and presents actionable insights using statistical techniques.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience with data blending tools, such as KNIME or Alteryx.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint, required.
  • Familiarity with data science tools, including R or Python, preferred.
  • Ability to navigate and query a data warehouse and/or use Snowflake
  • Extremely well-developed analytical abilities, including predictive modeling.
  • Strong self-initiative, problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to continuously deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
