CORE RESEARCH


Prescriptive Data’s Core Research Team directs and implements an organization's research and development policies, objectives, and initiatives with a focus on extending Artificial Intelligence methodologies, computational techniques, methods, and tools in the domain of smart-building technology.


JOB DESCRIPTION


We are looking for AI research scientists with passions to extend Artificial Intelligence methodologies in the domain of smart-building technologies. As a member of the newly-formed team, you will have the opportunity to use your deep understanding of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and data science to solve real-world problems and provide services for the ultimate objectives of smart and net-zero buildings, intelligent and connected grid, and a sustainable environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply deep and creative research on a range of topics related to building automation, mathematical optimizations including Model Predictive Control (MPC), Physics-informed machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop AI-based solutions for building system and equipment level optimal controls.
  • Work closely with ML engineers and data scientists to enable successful deployments and operations of AI-based solutions in the production environment.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 2+ years of experience in applying AI to practical and comprehensive technology solutions. Preferred experience in collaborating with research organizations, universities, and laboratories.
  • Advanced Math and Statistics skills (linear algebra, calculus, Bayesian statistics, etc.) with an ability to apply statistical methodologies in the data science domain.
  • Experience and knowledge of different optimization algorithms, multi-objective optimizations, robust optimizations, and MPC.
  • Experience and knowledge of ML/AI including Bayesian networks, Reinforcement learning, Manifold learning, etc.
  • Programming experience in Python, R, Matlab, C++, etc. Contribution to research communities and/or efforts, including publishing papers at conferences such as ASME, AEE, ASM, IEEE, and journals including Applied Energy, Energy and Building, IEEE, and Optimization and Engineering Journals is a plus.
  • Energy engineering knowledge especially in thermodynamics, fluid, and heat transfer is a plus.

EDUCATION

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another related engineering field.
