Cox Enterprises is hiring an Advisory and Assurance Data Analytics Manager to join our team! As the Advisory and Assurance Data Analytics Manager, you will lead the development and execution of the department's plan, objectives, and goals related to data analytics. The data analytics manager will assume responsibility and accountability for the successful execution of project/service-related data processing requests; data validation and accuracy; data reporting and analysis; data system and technology vendor management; and end-user training on data-related solutions and techniques.

You will also manage the relationship and communication with internal (Audit Services) and external (non-Audit Services) stakeholders including leading efforts to gather business requirements for data analytics projects, and effectively communicating the value behind analytics projects to stakeholders. This role will report to the Data Analytics Advisory and Assurance Director.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of the Audit and Advisory Services Data Analytics team while partnering with divisional organizations, groups or departments.
  • Assess the types and ability to extract the information necessary to help support partners/leaders improve their understanding and develop new insights about performance, opportunities, and challenges based on data analytics
  • Structure and execute research and data gathering efforts to address specific current and anticipated needs.
  • Oversee design and configuration of new and/or enhanced research methodologies.
  • Engage with functional operations team leaders and mangers to create dashboard and reporting requirements.
  • Initiate new or revised procedures, programs and initiatives.
  • Communicate findings to senior leadership and across stakeholder groups and organizations.

Project Management and Execution

  • Identify and implement data resources (database, visualization, reporting) necessary to fulfill opportunities.
  • Develop, execute, and deploy analyses both internally and externally.
  • Support and sustain deployed analytics.
  • Support core service offerings as an integrated component of all project methodology.

Resource Development

  • Identify resource gaps and propose solutions to AS leadership on resource gaps through methods such as building a self-service team from existing resources within AS or collaborating with external vendors to address resource gaps.
  • Identify knowledge gaps within AS relating to data analytics for both analytics-focused resources and non-analytics-focused resources. Develop or recommend training solutions either internally or through vendor support to address knowledge gaps
  • Oversee junior data analyst, if necessary

Technology Support & Enablement

  • Employ dynamic, agile approach to technology platform implementation and use.
  • Identify functionality gaps and potential technology solutions.
  • Manage solutions to support tech and BI deployments
  • Promote self-service model and adoption of analytics to mitigate risk and enhance controls.

Relationship Management

  • Identify analytics opportunities across the Advisory and Assurance core service offerings within Audit Services (AS).
  • Work with internal (AS) and external (Non AS) stakeholders to identify opportunities, drive strategies, enhance collaboration, execute projects, and socialize analytic solutions.
  • Manage relationships with third-party contractors and tech. vendors to fulfill department needs.
  • Educate resources both internal and external to AS on the value of data analytics, the methodology and approach, and the technical execution of such analyses.

Strategy Development

  • Create, document, and execute on data analytics strategy as a core component of AS service offerings.
  • Work with AS leadership to continuously refine and enhance core value proposition, integrate into department processes, identify strategic opportunities, and develop potential stakeholders and resources.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of technical systems support and/or data analysis experience preferred; financial analysis and reporting experience advantageous

Business/Leadership Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail and accuracy; technically savvy with a broad understanding of business systems and reporting
  • Ability to effectively communicate the business value as it relates to technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel and translate business/data requirements into technical terms.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, SQL/query languages, and data analytics required; experience with Oracle/Hyperion BI, Informatica/ETL tools, MiniTab/statistical tools, SAS, and SharePoint advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification such as Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Experience working on the Internal Audit team
