AD, Business Intelligence at Chewy (Miami, FL)
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for an Associate Director of Business Intelligence to join our Merchandising Team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for scaling self-serve analytics tools and data products across both internal and external stakeholders. You will lead a team of analytics personnel in building out, evaluating and integrating new analytics platforms & dashboards while continuously improving data quality, governance, and documentation across Merchandising data sources.
The ideal candidate has proven experience leading analytics teams, integrating and scaling data applications, and a passion for creating best-in-class analytics solutions. The ideal candidate excels at developing and delivering product roadmaps with proven experience exceeding customer expectations. This individual is highly proficient in cross-functional program management and has proven experience delivering high quality results with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interface directly with both external stakeholders and executive leadership to drive prioritization of analytics solutions across multiple teams.
What you'll do:
- Onboard and train stakeholders on how to leverage new data platforms and solutions
- Lead recurring intake and prioritization forums to evaluate the analytics needs of stakeholders
- Construct and deliver product roadmaps on tight timelines that deliver insightful and user-friendly dashboards for both internal and external customers
- Partner directly with Merchandising, Data Engineering, and Corporate IT teams to evaluate analytics infrastructure and scope integration of new tools and technology
- Deliver automated solutions to extract and share data with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and proactively monitor metrics and dashboards that evaluate the health of data quality, systems, and data processes
- Own and continually improve metrics documentation and data governance
- Partner with IT teams to construct downstream impact analysis and own change management communication for Merchandising and related data sources
- Lead analytics and data engineering teams to prioritize and QA development of new data tables, metrics, and products
- Mentor, coach, and develop analytics team members
What you'll need:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or a related degree with analytics and quantitative and technical emphasis; MBA or Masters in Analytics preferred
- Minimum 8 years delivering analytics tools and insights in an ecommerce or retail setting
- Strong leadership skills with minimum of 6 years managing people
- Proven experience delivering high quality and insightful data visualizations and translating complex data into actionable insights
- Proven experience building tools and processes that measure data quality and trigger automated alerts when metrics or data is out of tolerance
- Exemplary stakeholder management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks
- Advanced Tableau skills
- Strong SQL and familiarity with cloud-based data storage and extraction processes
- Proven experience delivering large scale analytics initiatives on tight timelines
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills using data to recommend and drive actions
- Thorough understanding of Financial KPIs and P&L statement
- Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments
- Passion for data and an obsession to use data to drive value for customers and business
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Bonus:
- MBA, Masters in Analytics, or equivalent advanced academic degree
- Experience working with Snowflake
- Project Management Certification
- Advanced technical skills using Python or Knime
- Data modeling experience in Merchandising, Finance, Retail/Ecommerce
