Job Description
The Data Analyst III will be a critical member of the Operations Planning team, owning variance analysis and the delivery of critical insights for Nordstrom’s Supply Chain Organization. The Data Analyst III will support volume forecast creation, data analysis, and dashboarding to enable efficient Supply Chain operations. This position will play a pivotal role in optimizing how JWN serves customers across all banners and channels.
Experience in demand, capacity, or labor planning in the retail environment is desired. Seeking candidates with a strong functional background and ability to define problem solving approaches in complex, data rich environments.
A day in the life…
- Support SC Operations Planning team execute weekly and monthly planning cycles
- Identify opportunities for systematic variance analysis and root cause identification
- Lead ad hoc analysis to shape critical business decisions in fast moving environment
- Champion the data needs of the SC Planning team and coordinate with key partners across the Nordstrom organization including Product Management, Data Science, Technology, Finance, and Merchandizing
- Lead green-field analysis to explore and identify critical improvements to planning inputs or processes
You own this if you have…
- Degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field preferred
- Supply chain expertise in retail or consumer goods preferred; with exposure to logistics, fulfillment, returns, or supply chain planning
- 5+ years of data management and analysis
- Knowledge of best practices for data consumption, aggregation & ingestion with leading visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Strong understanding of normalized data, de-normalized data, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, query construction and dimensional data modeling with applied skills in SQL
- Experience with Python and familiarity with data acquisition, analysis, modeling, and automation (e.g. Airflow).
- Strong operational business understanding, including potential impact of business decisions on various internal/external stakeholders and systems
- Comfort in presenting to business stakeholders and leadership

Washington=102,500 - 170,500 USD AnnualThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
