Senior Manager, Application Security Engineer

We are looking for an experienced security leader to join our Capital One Application Security team.
As a security leader, you will own building and managing a team of security engineers and leaders, fostering a strong team culture. You and your team will be responsible for reviewing and testing Capital One applications before, during and after release, partnering closely with our development teams to produce innovative and secure solutions. We're looking for a leader that's highly passionate about cloud computing and building a high performing security team. Ideally you have a track record of delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. You should know how to prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong team. Capital One in general, and Application Security in particular, operates at a very large scale and demands high standards, so a passion and discipline around security and delivery is critical. A high level of ownership and accountability is essential.
A Security Manager must foster constructive dialogue and seek resolution when confronted with discordant views. Leaders in this role are expected to participate fully in the planning of the Capital One Security Testing team's work and constantly seek opportunities for process improvements. They should also have a deep understanding of at least one specialty for which they are a sought-out resource (both within Cyber Security and by groups throughout Capital One), while having an understanding of the application of Cyber Security in a broad range of technical areas.
A successful candidate will need a combination of technical and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle a mix of disparate tasks which may include project and software development work. - Assistance with recruiting activities and administrative work
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 8 years of experience working in cybersecurity or information technology
- At least 4 years of people leadership experience
- At least 5 years of experience within an application and software security team
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Cyber Security or equivalent work experience
- Strong Cyber security risk-based prioritization abilities
- Knowledge of Cyber security technologies dynamic application security testing, penetration testing, risk analysis or software testing techniques
- Cyber security professional certifications (OSCP, CISSP or CEH)
- 1+ year of experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services
- 1+ year of experience managing remote team members
- Strong written communication skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $230,100 - $262,700 for Sr Manager, Cyber Technical
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
