The Senior Specialist - Alternative Investments representative acts as a subject matter expert and assists registered investment advisors with all aspects in reviewing the investment for custody, onboarding, purchases, redemptions, and general maintenance of alternative investments. Our team performs a vital value-added service as many advisors utilize Alternative Investments assets to diversify and improve the returns on their clients' portfolios.
This position involves directly communicating with existing advisors and clients via inbound/outbound calls and e-mails on a real time basis with the trading and technology issues that they encounter.

What you are good at
- You will join a team of 8-10 representatives who will assist internal and external clients with servicing, understanding, and finding flexible solutions for sophisticated investments.
- You will partner with Service Teams, Sales, Trading, Operations, and RIAs to understand the diverse needs of high-net-worth advisors and clients, serving as the central point of contact for alternative investments.
- You will educate clients, prospects, and business partners and resolve issues on matters relating to regulation, legislation, exemptions, filings and TD Ameritrade's Alternative Investment process, service, and policy.
- Provide phone and email-based support to improve the client experience and promote client retention through service quality and delivery of timely and accurate information.
What you have
- Minimum 2 years' experience in operations or client service role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Working experience of Alternative Investments (types, structures, and associated documentation)
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to condense policies and concepts into clear, concise language
- Problem resolution skills as well as effective collaboration across departments to resolve issues, and the ability to build a consensus and persuade others in a matrixed organization
- Exercise business judgment including the ability to identify business risks and articulate those risks to business partners and all levels of management
- The ability to adopt change and innovation
