The Opportunity:
As a CACI-SOAS Cultural Mission Support Specialist that has both French and Arabic language abilities. As the Cultural Mission Support Specialist, you will provide assistance and guidance to US Military leadership regarding pertinent cultural, religious, linguistic, and geopolitical information. You will provide intelligence support by attending engagements (conferences, meetings, training events, discussions with local leaders etc.) and providing feedback to the Command. You will assist in training military personnel regarding national and local affairs on issues relating to politics, governance, social and economic, development, and tribal dynamics in African partner nations. You will provide culturally specific information and perspectives to operations within the AOR to support security cooperation, contingency, crisis action, and strategic planning and operations. While embedded with operational entities, you will use foreign language fluency and regional expertise to offer your knowledge of and assistance with historical, political, economic, and social aspects of engagement strategies and international relations on how those issues apply to the interests the United States holds within specific countries and regions.
Responsibilities:
As a CACI-SOAS Cultural Mission Support Specialist you will be responsible for written and oral translation or interpretation of designated languages (English, Franco-Arabic) used in designated AFRICOM Area of Operations, (potentially in hostile, austere locations) and provide insightful, objective analysis that can be instrumental in assisting and advising the Command leadership on the formulation engagement strategies within the operational locality. You will advise the Command personnel regarding the impact of local culture on military/civilian operations and vice versa as well as review Military Operations products to ensure an in depth understanding of the culture and religion for team leadership to mitigate operational mission risk resulting from cultural effects. You will advise the Command Team concerning effects of Civil Military Operations within the context of Partner Nation tradition heritage and customary laws and facilitate liaison efforts between Partner Nation entities and US military team members. You will participate in various working groups to provide input related to local customs, provide written and or oral translations of training materials and products between languages for use by U.S. and Partner Nation personnel, and support key leader engagement, meetings, and missions.
Qualifications:
Fluency/expertise in listening, speaking, writing, and reading in the designated languages: Required languages are English, French and Arabic.

• Current TS/SCI Security Clearance.

• Willing to work rotating shifts as needed - that may include nights and weekends.

• Use experience with social media applications relevant to the speaking audience of North West Africa.

• Ability to conduct research to determine key foreign communicators their leanings and target audiences.

• Ability to work independently in austere environment and demonstrates strong initiative.

• Possesses competent computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired:
• 2 years’ Cultural Mission Support Specialist experience supporting DoD on the historical, political, military, cultural, religious, and economic conditions, and factors of geographic regions.

• 1 year of experience working on a military staff of or a supporting element of a deployed HQ

• 1 years’ experience briefing and preparing written products for senior leaders (general officer/flag officer/senior executive service level)

• Fluency/expertise in speaking, writing, and reading additional North West African languages/dialects.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$90,300-$189,600
