Position Summary:
The Converting Manager is responsible for safely leading and coordinating all converting operations within the box plant, including flexo-folder gluers, specialty finishing, and support personnel. This role ensures production targets are met with maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Enforce all plant safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and machine guarding.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free converting area.
Execute daily and weekly production schedules for all converting machines.
Coordinate changeovers, setups, and staffing to minimize downtime.
Monitor machine performance, scrap, and efficiency throughout the shift.
Troubleshoot production issues related to tooling, material, setup, or staffing.
Work closely with scheduling, maintenance, and quality teams to meet customer commitments.
Address quality issues quickly and drive corrective actions
Supervise, coach, and develop machine operators, helpers, and leads
Conduct training on machine operation, setups, safety, and quality standards
Communicate shift performance, downtime, quality issues, and staffing needs to leadership
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a corrugated box plant converting environment
Strong working knowledge of flexo-folder-glues
Amtech/Encore ERP experience preferred
Solid understanding of safety, quality, and production controls
