Technical Writer

We're looking for a Technical Writer to create engaging content for our customers' developers across our entire portfolio of products. You should be equal parts curious about software, able to write clearly and effectively, and skilled at communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders within your department and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Telesign's customer documentation platform in ReadMe.
- Create, edit, and remove pages and content as needed to support changes to Telesign's products or customer communications strategy. Primarily how-to guides, tutorials, and API reference pages.
- Manage platform and provide editorial guidance to authors of help topics in our Salesforce support knowledgebase.
- Bring ideas to the table for policies and best practices for the technical writing team.
- Consult with subject matter experts (including, but not limited to, product managers, developer experience, software engineers, and marketers) to learn enough about our existing products and new features to write about them accurately and effectively.
- Tactfully but assertively advocate for the best possible customer experience with our documentation.
- Create code samples for our APIs or coordinate delivery of code samples by our engineers (depending on your level of engineering experience).
Essential Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience in technical writing, content writing, or web development.
- Technical experience related to web development or software development.
- Experience writing customer-facing content in a professional setting, including REST API documentation
- Portfolio or other repository of writing samples. Preferred forms of content are API reference pages, tutorials, and how-to guides.
- Experience using API documentation platforms such as ReadMe.com or Stoplight
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred but not required.
- Messaging, telephony, fraud, risk, or cybersecurity industry-experience.
- Basic working knowledge of at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, Python, Swift, Objective-C, Ruby, PHP, C#, or Java.
- Experience working with Markdown.
- Experience working with OAS/Swagger spec files.
- Experience using Git version control.
- Experience using command line tools.
