Technical Writer II

Overview of Position
The technical writer documents and evaluates training content, including creating proactive solutions to business needs and seizing opportunities for continuous improvement in individual, team, business unit and organizational performance. In this role, you will research, organize, write, and edit technical and business documents in support of customer-facing products and services, as well as other internal corporate technical writing projects as required.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Review and modify existing support documentation to ensure operational training initiatives are aligned with corporate goals and meet the needs of the customer
  • Create, review, and edit support documentation, and educational scripts for videos and webinars for both internal and external customers to ensure consistency in presentation and adherence to style and brand requirements
  • Create, review, and edit customer-facing content, including customer service announcements and root cause analysis documents, to ensure adherence to style and brand requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Create, review, and edit content, including reports, presentations, operational documentation, user guides, Quick Reference Guides, Tool Tips, FAQs, and blogs to insure adherence to style and brand requirements
  • Coordinate collaboration between subject matter experts, corporate product management, and corporate structural design on business requirements, content approval, and process improvement using Six Sigma principles to improve both process and execution of team objectives
  • Drive improved usage and understanding of customer-facing tools and portals through education programs aimed at existing clients and internal support teams
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of team training for communications, content, and education specialists to foster professional development of team members and efficient use of team resources


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in revision, control, design, and development of instructional and communications material in a corporate setting
  • 2+ years of experience creating content with the Software Development Lifecycle and the Documentation Lifecycle
  • Experience in the design and development of hard copy and online documentation including user guides, release notes, and administrator reference guides

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Collegiate studies in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or Public Relations
  • Technical Writing training or certification
  • Project Management Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with a creative problem-solving focus

Negligible

Colorado Residents Only:
The base pay range for Colorado residents is $51,870.00 - $95,550.00 plus any relevant incentive pay programs that may be aligned to the role.
