Technical Editor/Writer
Job Description
Candidate will synthesize information gathered from various sources into coherent thoughts and statements to develop technical publication content such as: general descriptions, controls and indicators, theory of operation, preventative and scheduled maintenance procedures, and other sections of the publications as required by the project. Candidate will correctly tag within the SGML/XML guidelines to develop content. Candidate will be able to correct tagging issues in accordance with the Military Standard for the project being worked.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to acquire and verify subject matter content by interviewing workers engaged in developing products and services, observing production methods, referring to models, engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications. Experience in working effectively with teams but also independently or with minimal supervision. Experience in using and applying clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions. Proficiency in utilizing appropriate grammar and composition. Experience in defining required graphics, tables, and engineering drawings. Experience in creating graphic materials using basic photography and graphic applications such as PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. Proficiency in PTC Arbortext and Windchill. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Proficient in MS Office software suite. Experience authoring within a content management system.
Desired skills
- Experience writing technical content for procedure manuals, service manuals, user's guides and related technical publications that describes the installation, operation, and maintenance of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment.
- Experience in XML or SGML authoring and publishing
- Experience successfully supporting multiple projects and teams
- Experience with content formatting and publishing applications
- Experience utilizing Citrix Storefront

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $56,200 - $93,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
