The Washington Post is seeking a video producer and editor to join our tech coverage team based in San Francisco. This producer-editor will work closely with the Help Desk personal tech team to develop explainers and stories, write scripts, and shoot and edit their stories.
We are looking for a nimble, collaborative and creative communicator who is skilled in reaching new audiences on social media platforms. Candidates should have experience with shooting, editing and scripting, both in the field and in a studio environment. A knowledge of motion graphics and animation would be a plus. Experience working in tech news is not a requirement, but a keen interest and curiosity in personal tech is a must.
This position requires at least five years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom, strong news judgment and the ability to multitask. Fast, proficient editing skills on Adobe products are required. We expect the successful candidate to produce at least one video each week.
This position is based in our San Francisco bureau and is not eligible for remote work. Some shift work, including rotational weekend coverage, will be required.

Interested candidates should upload a resume with links to their work and a cover letter outlining the experience they would bring to the position to our jobs portal. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled, but those received by 06/10/2022 will be prioritized. Your cover letter should be addressed to Executive Producer Tom LeGro, Director of Video Micah Gelman and Personal Technology Editor Yun-Hee Kim.
