Sr. Platform Writer

Sage Intacct is looking for an experienced writer with a proven ability to create highly-usable Platform documentation. As part of a team of writers, your focus will be serving the information needs of developers and non-developers who extend or customize the Sage Intacct platform. This includes everything from internal documentation for Sage Intacct developers to external documentation for 3rd-party solution developers, partners, and administrators.
Sage Intacct is cloud-based accounting software that serves the needs of mid-sized companies, with highly customizable and extendable functionality. In addition to our end-user help, we publish comprehensive developer and platform documentation through our developer site (developer.intacct.com) and other forums. You'll work with members of cross-functional teams, where you'll use your background in content strategy and Platform/API documentation to develop a variety of content for developers, partners, and administrators.
Responsibilities:
- Create content that guides internal and external developers who are building on the Sage Intacct platform.
- Empower internal developers who are building on the Intacct Platform by defining the language, steps, and guidelines for building UI screens and components.
- Enable external developers to build solutions for the Sage Intacct marketplace through effective use of our Platform Services application and APIs.
- Provide user-friendly, solutions-oriented content for non-developers who want to customize UI screens and workflows to meet their accounting needs.
- Research material through a combination of interviews with subject matter experts and hands-on experience with configuration languages, platform features, and APIs.
- Ensure that Platform documentation is kept current with release updates.
Requirements:
- 5+ years technical writing experience.
- Minimum of 3 years writing for a developer audience.
- Experience with a highly-customizable platform, such as Salesforce.
- Understanding of Web services technologies and HTTP request-response protocol.
- "Hands on" attitude and passion for technology.
- Ability to understand and create basic code examples in one or more current programming/scripting languages.
- Ability to create content plans and schedules, meeting milestones and deadlines.
- Experience authoring in a variety of authoring tools, including markdown-based tools for developer content as well as help authoring tools such as MadCap Flare.
- Strong portfolio of developer, platform, and API documentation.
- Financial application or accounting knowledge is a plus.
- BA/BS degree preferred.
