THE PURPOSE:

We are looking for a seasoned Sr. Content Manager with experience creating content in the personal finance category.

You will primarily lead the execution of growing and maintaining our editorial content library around credit cards, deposit accounts, bonus offers, and other finance products for our audience’s specific needs. You should be well versed in compliance regulations for personal finance content and have a firm understanding of what it takes to create content that can drive organic traffic in this vertical.

As the Sr. Content Manager, you will make sure our content is always up to date and compliant, optimized for SEO, and keep an eye on future growth areas for the vertical.

 

THE ROLE:

  •   Provide quality assurance and copy editing for articles produced by freelance writers.
  •   Build out and maintain an editorial calendar for personal finance topics, including credit cards, banking, and crypto.
  •   Responsible for creating new assignments and seeing them through the production chain, working with a mix of in-house and freelance writers and editors.
  •   Source expert freelance contributors as needed.
  •   Conduct keyword research for new articles using tools such as Ahref or SEMRush.
  •   Look at traffic and revenue data and analyze performance.
  •   Pick content for newsletter distribution.
  •   Syndicate content on partner platforms, such as MSN and Yahoo.
  •   Ensure all content is always up to date and compliant with issuers’ offer details.
  •   Look for new opportunities that can monetize within personal finance content
  •   Performs other duties as assigned.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

  •   Experienced digital media editor with expertise in creating engaging original content for consumers in the personal finance category. You show passion for what you do and always strive to provide value to the customer.
  •   You are solutions-driven, a self-starter, and resourceful. You don’t sit around waiting for work to come to you.
  •   Sound SEO background with a proven track record of growing meaningful organic traffic to your content.
  •   Knows how to navigate affiliate portals for offer details, monetizing links, and contracts.
  •   Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and time management skills.
  •   Ability to prioritize tasks and objectives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  •   Experience managing compliance updates from issuers and executing updates in a timely manner.
  •   Experience driving content strategy for a personal finance publisher
  •   Proven track record producing content about credit cards and other personal finance topics.
  •   Up to date on best practices for SEO for content. You always do keyword research before you start writing, you know what’s a realistic target for your site, and you can optimize your own page titles and meta descriptions.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  •   Basic HTML knowledge and a background in using WordPress as a CMS.
  •   Four-year college degree in Journalism, Communication, or related field.
  •   Solid understanding of analytics tools such as Adobe or Google Analytics. You know how to look at traffic data and slice it by referrer, date ranges and compare YoY trends.
  •   Experience working in Excel to dissect and analyze data using pivot tables.
  •   Managerial experience a plus
