What You'll Do

  • Work with product managers, engineers, developer evangelists, and other partner teams to craft content plans and deliverables for new products and features.
  • Author a variety of documentation types including guides, instructional tutorials, code examples, and API references.
  • Review draft content written by members of the product team and other technical writers.
  • Work with functional leads to help set team priorities, and execute on strategies for improving document quality and customer experience with docs.
  • Coach writers, product managers and engineers on how to author high-quality documentation.

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

  • Engaging technical communicator, with strong written and verbal skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear and intuitive communications.
  • 4+ years of technical writing experience.
  • Ability to learn technical content and context quickly across multiple technical platforms, from web APIs to geospatial technology and data to mobile SDKs. You should be comfortable reading code, finding answers to technical questions, and communicating with software engineers across the organization.
  • Experience helping to grow technical writing teams, with dedication to passing on the knowledge you’ve gained to others.
  • Skilled relationship builder with both technical and business oriented people, and ready to partner across the marketing organization.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, with great organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills, and proven track record in making data-driven decisions to continually optimize performance and determine future investment.
  • Enthusiasm for the power of Mapbox to drive the future of navigation.
