About the Role


As a Technical Writer, you will become an AKASA platform expert, and assist others to become experts. You will work closely with engineers and subject matter experts to create documentation that enables implementation engineers to effectively understand, use, and deploy our platform. You will create and edit documentation to be clear, concise, and intuitive for its audience.


Outcomes

Plan.

  • Work closely with engineers and subject matter experts to develop deep knowledge and understanding of our platform and products.
  • Contribute to engineering team planning and status meetings to ensure that key platform updates are captured in the documentation when necessary.
  • Determine topic priorities and timelines to meet implementation goals.
  • Develop documentation structures, resources, and content management systems that best support the documentation needs of various internal personas.

Document.

  • Create and assist in the creation of various platform concepts and procedures.
  • Review and edit content for clarity and conciseness.
  • Define processes and procedures to maintain documentation as consistent, accurate, and up to date.

Iterate & Improve.

  • Work with content creators to identify content creation bottlenecks.
  • Work with content consumers to identify documentation gaps and other sources of pain caused by incomplete or unclear documentation.
  • Establish and adapt an approach to content maintenance that scales as our knowledge base grows.
  • Review content management systems for iterative improvements in support of sustainable and accurate documentation.

Competencies

  • Domain expert - demonstrated experience clearly communicating complex technical subject matter through documentation. Understands how to set up and improve docs environment to enable various employee personas. Is comfortable writing for a highly technical internal audience.
  • Effective change agent - strong communication skills. Can build rapport and good working relationships with senior leaders and peers. Can separate facts from opinions, take the perspectives of others and reach a workable solution.
  • Executes well - good project management and attention to detail. Accounts for unknowns and recover from setbacks well.

Note: All applicants for this role are asked to provide a writing sample. Samples most relevant to this role will include conceptual explanations of highly technical software, including steps to use specific features. The primary audience should be engineers, though the conceptual content should be easily understood by less technical audiences.
