The ZS Creative & Design team was created to enrich and evolve our consulting approaches and offerings. SENIOR CREATIVE, COPYWRITER
The Senior Creative, Copywriter is responsible managing all aspects of copy and related data for their accounts. They are the brand leader who solves strategic and creative issues with the client while enhancing the client's confidence in Creative & Design. The Senior Creative, Copywriter is capable of producing original, unusual, top-quality creative ideas across all assignments.
Responsibilities:

  • Have and maintain knowledge and understanding of client's products, their marketing objectives, audience(s), the treatment category, and competitive landscape
  • Understand marketing plans including objectives and strategies and how success will be measured.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and tactics appropriate drive a brand/product's strategy. Participate in strategic and tactical meetings to develop effective, strategically-aligned campaigns and work.
  • Oversee the work and creative team from inception to final product and ensures quality of content and style to meet clients marketing strategies and objectives
  • Develop smart, single-minded ideas that are on unique, thought provoking, and on strategy. Works collaboratively with creative and cross-functional partners. Direct members of staff to ensure proper production of campaign elements.
  • Keeps current on the latest award-winning advertising, film and graphic techniques, industry trends, plus media and technology innovations.
  • Review and direct brand content and communications with partners
  • Writes content that is clear, concise, creative, and supportable.
  • Works directly with copy and scientific/medical staff to ensure content/claims can be substantiated by supporting clinical studies. Prepares annotations and references for medical/legal/regulatory submissions as needed.
  • Conduct additional background research as necessary.
  • Develop strong client relationships through the creation and sharing of creatively and strategically sound work, and through collaborative creative problem-solving
  • Align with more senior creative leaders to understand and support staffing needs
  • Develops the creative rationale for each visual idea and its intended message.
  • Defends strength of ideas while remaining open to alternatives and future directions that may be deemed more effective.
  • Incorporates and/or explores clients' responses to presentation; creatively resolves questions and concerns.
  • Commands the writing, data, and conceptual direction for the account.
  • Develop strong client relationships and serve as a creative leader and problem-solving partner
  • Takes financial responsibility and ensures creative employees are billable and fully utilized to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Supervises and mentors creative team members, across multiple brands.
  • Take abstract concepts and guide teams to create unique concepts or designs that are user-friendly, representative of the client's goals, and within brand guidelines.
  • Manages and carries out photo shoots, video and film production, with art partner and assistance from reports
  • Organizes thoughts effectively communicates them well.
  • Places emphasis on quality control and adherence to deadlines.
  • Exhibits decisive problem-solving ability.
  • Coordinates and works with account management and copywriter identifying and obtaining information needed to carry out assignments.
  • Helps set priorities and manages workloads so that assignments are completed within agreed upon time frames.
  • Collaborates with production, ensuring quality work that is completed as designed, on time, without error and on budget.
  • Maintains current knowledge of production personnel, freelance art and copy staff, photographers, illustrators, directors, and talent; recommends those that are best suited to achieving the desired results.
  • Develops and participates in compelling and captivating presentations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field, Master's or other advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably within a marketing/advertising agency, healthcare agency, or other relevant role
  • Ability to combine conceptual creative thinking with exceptional content delivery
  • Writes content that is clear, concise, creative, and supportable
  • Ability to understand a marketing insight, strategy, and activation plan and translate into a compelling narrative with limited guidance
  • Experience overseeing the work of others and leading teams (both employees and freelancers)
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing landscape, including different stakeholders, channels, programs, and tactics
  • Has developed and executed tactics and campaigns for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and health and wellness industries
  • Portfolio showcasing evidence of strong presentation, range of copy forms, and conceptual work
  • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to build and foster collaborative culture


ZS is a global consulting firm. Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
