We’re looking for an experienced Senior Copywriter to fill out our team of food lovers. The ideal candidate is both one who can think conceptually to execute omnichannel brand campaigns and one who has a passion for UX/digital strategy and digging into nitty-gritty details. This role sits in our in-house creative department — the writers, designers and thinkers responsible for turning strategy briefs into the customer-facing cool stuff that builds brand love and drives our business.
Retail and food experience highly desired but not required if you’re a creative problem solver who can adapt quickly to our voice and tone; already has an understanding of best practices for web, social and email; loves a fast-paced environment; and can stay relentlessly positive on deadline.
Portfolio required.

Responsibilities:

  • Channel brand guidelines to create tight, compelling copy for in-store signage, web assets, paid media, social media and outdoor campaigns
  • Partner with Merchandising, Design, UX and Amazon teams on content creation within our Amazon e-commerce experience, and write high-visibility traffic-driving placements on Amazon.com
  • Work with Amazon partners to seamlessly introduce new services into the in-store experience through digital marketing efforts and in-store assets
  • Contribute breakthrough big ideas and strategic thinking to seasonal brainstorms
  • In partnership with the UX team, concept and write copy for clear, brand-aligned customer journeys across WFM.com and our app
  • Collaborate with digital editor and marketing program managers to write compelling, click-y long-form copy for the Tips & Ideas section of WFM.com, then bring the content to life in email and social
  • Collaborate with Consumer Comms team on earned media opportunities to increase brand relevance
  • Partner with art directors during the creative process on shoot planning, photo selection and design
  • Confidently present your work to Creative Director and VP of Brand in preparation for Marketing leadership review and approval
  • Mentor other copywriters through the creative process and oversee their work on high-visibility projects
  • Conduct yearly reviews, set goals, approve PTO and complete other admin for one direct report
  • Collaborate with copy editors to proof digital and printed materials for accuracy, spelling, grammar and adherence to AP Style/WFM Content Style Guide/Quality Standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, advertising or related field
  • 5–8 years of copywriting experience at an agency or in-house
  • Strong ability to prioritize clarity over cleverness when required to do so in order to help a customer navigate in-store or e-commerce experiences
  • Must have the ability to quickly research and build a knowledge base on a variety of topics and create the context necessary for communicating that information clearly to customers
  • Food writing and retail experience strongly preferred but not required
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative creative environment where ideas will be challenged and where feedback will be given
  • Must have a commitment to a positive, solutions-oriented attitude, while having fun and inviting innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency
  • Familiarity with digital editing/proofing and project management software such as ProofHQ, Workfront and Opal a plus
  • Must love snacking
