ABOUT THE JOB
The Instacart Creative Team is looking to hire a hybrid Production Artist/Colorist/Retoucher. In this role you will be responsible for retouching, compositing, creating print, web-ready files, while cataloging and maintaining the image/video archive in a color-managed workflow.
We are looking for someone who can take pride in managing our photography and video library while maintaining great quality for our content, commercials, emails, social media, and much more.
Responsibilities
- Communicate, defend, and build consensus around your work
- Present to a wide range of stakeholders and defend your creative choices to make sure the best creative is what goes out to the world
- Non-destructive retouching of CPG product, food, and lifestyle imagery.
- Support the management of DAM system by organizing files and adhering to digital naming conventions – including tagging, labeling, and archiving
- Owning the retouching process start to finish; starting with image/film release from photo/ to delivery of final assets to Design, and archiving master files in the DAM
- Ensure color consistency for brand colors across all imagery
- Maintain image/video workflows
- Strong understanding of online color correction and image constraints
- Retouch, name, and maintain digital asset files
- Partnering with the creative team to bring new ideas to life testing updated ways of shooting and retouching.
- Post-processing and preparing of imagery/video for designers and working closely with our team of Video Editors, Photographers, and Video Producers
ABOUT YOU
- Working knowledge of digital asset management catalog software and workflows.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience retouching images/videos using production (cameras, lighting, audio) and post-production technologies (logging, color correction, compression formats) in a video production environment, in-house creative team, or agency.
- Perform clipping, reframing, reformatting, converting and exporting, and color correction/grading
- Expertise in creating a variety of film/photo assets while maintaining image/video libraries and upholding file-naming structures
- Understanding of modern workflows of post-production
- Proficiency with Photoshop, Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Figma, and all related design tools
- Experience with Video Editing is a plus
- Knowledge of the ACES workflow for video is a plus
- Retouching portfolio that relates to product photography, food and lifestyle

- Knowledgeable of all camera bodies and lenses
- You have advanced digital image retouching skills.
- You have understanding of color managed workflows
- You have proven file management and organizational practices.
- You are current on all lighting and set systems in the photography/film field.
- You have an excellent understanding of all still photography lighting, videography and camera equipment.
