This is a full-time position based in our office in Malvern, PA located just outside of Philadelphia, PA.

Primary Function:

A Product Content Developer should clearly understand the objectives of the organization, their target audience, and must develop simple, easy-to-understand, user friendly product, technical and educational content. The content should be informative and engaging and should enable readers to get their information promptly and efficiently. In addition to creating the final content, the Product Content Developer will focus on maintaining a consistent instructional design process across products. They are expected to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to create content that supports business initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible to drive the product content and documentation platform for enterprise SaaS platform, mobile applications and hardware.
  • Responsible for the creation, development, and editing of content for various activities related to informing and educating internal and external constituents
  • Project manage the content needs for specific products and services and ensure all deliverables are on time throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Responsible for creating original content for online help, release content, training tutorials and videos, product knowledgebase, and API documentation based on the requirements outlined by the Product Manager
  • Edit and proofread all content prior to posting
  • Document product functionality, troubleshooting, and best practices through research, cross-functional teamwork and hands-on product testing
  • Use appropriate content format and delivery methods to best educate external and internal customers - written documentation, eLearning modules, user guides, etc.
  • Monitor customers' feedback, product goals and pain points to continually improve content
  • Be a champion for change; always pushing iterative improvement
  • Design online, instructor-led, and blended training materials for individual courses and comprehensive curricula; includes writing agendas, objectives, video scripting, activities, and assessments
  • Copy/edit existing training material when needed and adapt instructional materials for various formats


Qualifications and Experience

  • BA degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience writing software documentation for B2B web and mobile applications
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with SaaS
  • Experience with WordPress, Adobe tools, HTML, desktop publishing tools and with content management systems and/or online help tools
  • Experience with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) preferred
  • Experience documenting technical components and application-device functionality preferred
  • Experience working closely with engineering and product management teams as part of the software development process
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills a must
  • Must be able to provide writing samples and other media development


Competencies

  • Ability to multi-task, collaborate, project manage documentation effort, and adhere to internal processes and standards for quality and style.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience writing content for several communications and training methods, mediums, and for varied audiences. Must be able to create coherent, concise documents from large volumes of technical information, and have strong editorial skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong relationships with all levels of corporate and field organizations.
  • Flexible and able to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and time-critical environment.
