Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Photographer to join our in-house studio photo team and work side-by-side with passionate pet lovers. The ideal candidate would be responsible for capturing visual concepts in accordance to clients briefs while partnering with Art, Styling and Pet Teams to deliver the highest quality on brand content for Chewy.


What you'll do:

  • Check and adhere to lighting standards, go-by and creative briefs 
  • Operate DLSR camera in conjunction with Capture One to photograph product
  • Take direction and review by team leaders and Art Department daily on images
  • Receive and respond to constructive criticism professionally
  • Communicate professionally in “shoot” and “Project” chats using Slack
  • Trouble shoot lighting and set issues fluidly
  • Name and process images, back up originals EIP’s
  • Adjust lighting and sets while providing support for pet and style teams
  • Use and maintain modern and traditional technical equipment
  • Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures
  • Shadow Senior Photographers to help develop best practices on set and with teams


What you'll need:

 

As a Photographer at Chewy you will be on set working with pets and teams to orchestrate a variety of imagery that spans Pet on White (POW), Product Detail (PDP) imagery and campaign photography for digital and traditional media channels. You’ll need to create strong and effective internal partnerships and be able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment. A Photographer at Chewy should recognize and encourage team strengths while providing support on team challenges. You should also possess the ability troubleshoot and pivot as needed professionally and with positivity. Creating a safe, friendly pet-centric working environment is a priority.



  • Minimum 2+ years of onset production experience within a marketing environment
  • Positive professional attitude with a team mentality
  • Quality driven outlook with the ability to pivot based on project requirements and changes in scope
  • Strong understanding of the creative photography process and the dynamics needed to help lead a production team
  • Ability to adhere to Chewy style guide standards while communicating with partnering teams
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to adapt to pet challenges
  • Proficiency in online communication tools such as Slack and Webex
  • Firm grasp of Capture One and Photo editing tools
  • Expert ability to utilize DSLR Cameras (i.e. aperture, shutter speed, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel domestically if necessary
  • Outstanding portfolio that demonstrates strong lighting skills for Silo Photography, tabletop and/or lifestyle
