About the job
Red Hat's internal agency, Open Studio, is looking for a Personalization Copywriter to join us and support personalization projects on our owned web properties. In this role, you'll work primarily with our digital strategists, UX designers, content strategists, and data analysts to develop ads for a range of personalized content across our system of web properties. Typical projects include ad testing and persona targeting among others.
You'll join a community of strategists, designers, writers, filmmakers, illustrators, animators, developers, and more. We come from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, but we're all united by a singular purpose: to create innovative content that amplifies the Red Hat story. Your job within this group would be to advocate for our unique brand voice and create copy that encourages authentic engagement. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Write engaging copy that connects people to content that fits their user journey
  • Work directly with copywriters, art directors, data analysts, content strategists, and digital strategists to develop and pitch advertising on our owned digital properties and platforms
  • Work directly with subject-matter experts to further develop and refine copy
  • Develop and share expertise on personalization; help shape this emerging body of work at Red Hat
  • Be an advocate for the Red Hat brand and voice


What you will bring

  • Ability to write clearly, compellingly, and concisely
  • Deep interest in user experience and data
  • Empathy for customers and would-be customers
  • Understanding of how targeted content and visuals help people discover, understand, and ultimately purchase software
  • A portfolio of compelling, digital-first creative work
  • Solid understanding of how to translate complex technical content into compelling narratives
  • Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage projects and time effectively
  • Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative work environment
  • Ability to multitask with multiple deadlines, manage time effectively, establish priorities, and communicate expectations to stakeholders
  • Effective communication and persuasion skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, demanding, and changing environment
  • Global experience (beyond North America) and additional language skills are a plus
