About Us

At SimplePractice, we’re changing the face of health and wellness through innovative solutions that simplify the life of health and wellness practitioners. Think your neighborhood therapist, nutritionist, speech language pathologist, or massage therapist—the small business owners who dedicate their careers to helping others. Our solution provides them with an all-in-one platform to manage their practice and with the tools and resources to thrive as a practitioner and business owner. Our recent launch of Monarch (MeetMonarch.com)—a national directory with thousands of therapists offering online appointment requests—offers an easy way for consumers to access and book a therapist who meets their criteria.

The Role

Are you ready to break down the barriers to mental health care? We’re looking for an experienced Editor-in-Chief to lead content strategy and oversee the editorial team for Monarch, a SimplePractice company. We are in a unique position to transform mental healthcare as a part of SimplePractice, the leading practice management software for clinicians.

As the Editor-in-Chief, you’ll work closely with the VP of Marketing to develop a content strategy for Monarch, and build our editorial program and brand voice from the ground up. You will own the production of high-value content, oversee our guest author program, build editorial workflows, and expand our content library to increase engagement, traffic and conversions.

The ideal candidate for this role will have developed a successful content and editorial strategy for an established health or wellness brand, and demonstrates high-level strategic and creative thinking. They will have experience assembling and managing a group of quality freelance writers and copywriters, show strong attention to detail, and adapt in a quickly-evolving environment. Passion about mental health is a must.

  • Keep tabs on mental health and wellness trends, develop fresh content ideas and approaches that are ahead of the curve
  • Build a data-driven approach to content development, based on an in-depth understanding of SEO best practices
  • Oversee the development of actionable, on-brand marketing copy

Requirements

  • 10+ years of content and editorial experience, with at least 3 years in an editorial management role
  • Fantastic writer — rich portfolio of both long-form articles and marketing copy
  • Excellent editor, knowledge of Chicago and MLA Style
  • Experience hiring and managing writers
  • Strong understanding of advanced SEO
  • Project management and leadership skills
  • Content experience in the consumer health and/or  wellness industry required
