Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Manager, Studio Management III to join our in-house creative team and work side-by-side with passionate pet lovers. The ideal candidate would be a people leader and manage our video and photo production teams teams in Dania Beach, Florida.  This position will monitor all projects and processes across the teams of videographers, photographers and production assistants.  You will be involved in improving process and efficiencies, creating organization, managing equipment and schedules and transforming teams into well-oiled machines. You will manage the resources of our studio spaces as well as the functionality of the space to be an efficient support of the creative productions.


What you'll do:

  • Provide and monitor production management for video/photo in our Dania Beach Studio
  • Provide people leading for our video and photo teams for our Dania Beach Studio
  • Monitor all freelance support for video and photo productions
  • Manage all the studio spaces across our corporate headquarters to make sure they have the proper equipment, resources, cleanliness and organizational support
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and revise policies in line with company directives
  • Manage and oversee the production teams as they perform daily production, budgets and project schedules
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to efficiently develop new content in the studios and maintain a high level of efficiency and maintain brand standards
  • Deliver high end content with internal studio team and external resources
  • Responsible for the development of more efficient systems, reducing internal costs and improving and implementing new programs across the internal production teams
  • Assess cross-functional capability and availability to assign resources based on scope, talent and budget considerations
  • Review every project submitted to Studio production
  • Analyze how the production work is executed and solve for efficient workflows by removing bottlenecks and gaps
  • Maintain photo and video equipment catalog and stay current with equipment needs to execute content at a high level
  • Improve the turnaround time and quality of production
  • Manage the production execution by providing clear and concise direction to ensure the timely delivery
  • Analyze and manage shared resources, workspaces, project setup, freelance resources and deliverables
  • Monitor and push for timely approval processes



What you'll need:

As the Manager, Studio Management III, you will be “the glue” making sure all facets of the production team and process are running smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibility is to help lead, organize, focus, synergistic workflows and output.

You’ll need a natural ability to create strong and effective internal partnerships amongst cross functional teams, and be able to thrive in a dynamic deadline driven environment. You will need to have the instinctual ability to see challenges before they arise, troubleshoot and pivot as needed. 

 

  • Minimum 5+ years of video experience in a studio environment. E-Commerce/Retail experience a plus!
  • Must be process driven and able to pivot based on project requirements and changes in scope
  • An understanding of quality, a creative thinker who sees value in high level production and execution of projects
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of photo and video production from storytelling to lighting to editing.
  • Ability to adhere to our Chewy style guide standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Has experience in managing creative and diverse photo/video studio teams
  • You will need to be proficient in JIRA, Frame.io, Smartsheets and other data workflow tools
  • Must be a people leader, mentor, and be invested in the growth and development direct and dotted line reports
