Lead Video Editor
Webflow is a visual web development platform that empowers non-coders to create incredible experiences for the web.
Webflow University is Webflow’s learning platform and has established a reputation for having best-in-class teaching videos. To get a feel for it, take a look at Webflow University, one of our recent course trailers, or even a lesson teaching the concepts behind CSS grid.
We’re looking for a Lead Video Editor to join our Webflow University video team and help us educate, empower, and inspire everyone to create for the web! You’ll edit and contribute to the creation of some of the most impactful educational videos on the web.
About the role
- Location: San Francisco HQ
- Full-time
As a Lead Video Editor, you’ll …
- Edit audio and video for Webflow’s learning platform. You’ll work directly with and help level up our world-class Video team to create some of the most engaging teaching videos on the planet. From courses to lessons, and everything in between, you’ll be responsible for editing and iterating on productions with expert pacing, rhythm, and creative storytelling.
- Create and manage high-quality screen recordings. We strongly believe product demonstrations don’t have to be boring. In fact, nothing gets us more excited than helping someone arrive at an “aha” moment in learning a tool like Webflow. With the partnership of our Video team, you’ll capture high quality screen recordings of Webflow and other tools to serve as the visual foundation for high-impact teaching examples.
- Identify opportunities to streamline our workflow. Our team of producers is looking to take our post-production workflow to the next level. With that in mind, you’ll work closely with our team to help us identify and invest in opportunities that dramatically improve the production experience.
- Push the boundaries of what’s possible with video education. This team enjoys a ton of experimental freedom, so we’re always looking for ways to do better, even when the method isn’t 100% proven. If it gets our users excited about learning, we’re probably going to do whatever it takes to try it out. We love scripted video, unscripted video, music with video, clear graphics to visually reinforce teaching, and anything that integrates storytelling into the learning process. (And about a billion other things that won’t fit in this paragraph.)
That said, these responsibilities are just the start! At Webflow, we encourage you to contribute wherever your interests take you — and shape your role accordingly. And this isn’t just a philosophical bent: we actually give you 4 hours a week (10% of the work week) to pursue passion projects outside of your role responsibilities.
About you
You’ll thrive as a Lead Video Editor if you:
- Have experience editing video in various formats at a senior level as part of a post-production team.
- Have expert proficiency in Premiere Pro, Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Can clean and mix audio in Pro Tools, Audition, Logic Pro, or other DAWs.
- Can expertly manage multiple post-production projects at the same time.
- Are comfortable editing collaboratively with a director and/or producer.
- Have experience with 2D and 3D asset creation in tools like After Effects, Figma, Photoshop, ScreenFlow, Cinema 4D, or Keynote. (Yes, we love and use Keynote from time to time.)
- Can solve complex post-production challenges while delivering to deadlines.
- Have a superb sense of storytelling and rhythm as well as extraordinary attention to detail.
- Share our passion for education, technology, and a moderate tolerance for puns in the workplace.
If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. Studies show that you can still be considered for a role if you meet just 50% of the role’s requirements.
