The role
We are looking for an Investment Writer/Editor to join our Content team. This role will be responsible for researching and writing and editing SEO articles on investing and personal finance topics. The Investment Writer/Editor will create content that is accurate, comprehensive, and well-written in order to help us reach our goal of educating and informing members with independent and fact-based content to help them get their money right.
What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Managing Editor, this role will...
Write SEO articles (and some news, service. and product-related pieces) on investing and retirement plans for the site and to be shared across distribution channels including daily newsletter, app, podcast, and social media
- Edit and update existing investing articles
Stay on top of news and regulation changes surrounding investment topics in order to contribute topical investment story ideas (20 per month), some of which you’ll write
Quick turnaround of writing news-related and product-related articles as needed by the invest business unit and to position company as industry and consumer resource and serve as key company differentiator
Work cross-functionally with other teams (including SEO, Invest, Member, and Creative)
Adhere to editorial and compliance standards, including voice, tone, perspective, and copy and sourcing guidelines
Integrate visual elements (including video, graphics, and images) to produce comprehensive and actionable content
Understand the customer journey to inform content opportunities, ultimately removing barriers to conversion
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 3 years of experience writing professionally about investing topics
Understanding of investing and retirement plans
Reporting and research skills (journalism background preferred)
Knowledge of SEO
Demonstrated ability to deliver factual and engaging content on tight deadlines
Mastery of grammar
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
