ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

We are looking for a passionant Freelance Content Editor who could help our digital editorial team in Spain, the Freelance Editor will be responsible for ideating, writing and producing shoppable content to engage, educate and inspire Bodas.com consumer audience during life’s major milestones. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented editor who is comfortable writing and producing content that will perform across several marketing channels, with a particular emphasis on SEO. 

We’re looking for someone with experience as a Freelance Content Editor and undertands how editorial content can drive conversions for our owned and operated e-commerce products as well as third-party partners. A strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, a passion for learning new skills and a positive attitude are all necessities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pitch, write and produce SEO-driven articles every week for bodas.net/articulos
  • Identify wedding and lifestyle trends and pitch relevant ideas that place Bodas.net and the group, at the forefront of an evolving content landscape
  • Audit existing content on Bodas.net to identify opportunities to update and further optimize articles
  • Conduct keyword research to track performance as well as identify new content opportunities 
  • Analyze content metrics and performance, gleaning insights and applying learnings to better inform future content
  • Work with other colleagues, teams and departments to create strategic content opportunities
  • Conduct photo research
  • Represent the brand as one of the voices of bodas.net with inspirational and signature content 
  • Stay current on weddings, lifestyle and media industries

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. Previous experience working for an online magazine = huge plus. 
  • Exceptional writing skills. 1-3 years professional experience writing for an online brand or digital publication. If you are an expert and have authority in lifestyle, weddings, influencers, fashion… we want you! 
  • You will sign the articles with your name so we need you to fall in love with Bodas.net and be able to represent the brand and its values in Spain, and around the world! 
  • Experience working in a team, as well as experience collaborating cross-functionally with other teams on projects and initiatives 
  • An extreme attention to detail 
  • Strong commitment to hitting deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
  • An understanding of basic SEO best practices and keyword targeting. Experience writing search-optimized copy is a big plus
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity with a wealth of fun and new ideas, dream big!
  • An understanding of how different media consumption channels impact and inform content output
  • Experience working within a CMS (text / content management tools)
  • Experience with Skimlinks, AWIN, Google Analytics, Semrush and/or other analytic tools
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop or other photo editing platforms. Experience in creating video content for social media will be valued (Tik Tok, IG Reels…)
  • A good eye for design, style and trends
  • Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including but not exclusive to a degree in journalism, communications or marketing at an accredited institution or comparable practical experience.
