As an established comprehensive elementary ELA program, Amplify CKLA is well positioned to significantly increase market share and have a powerful impact on PreK-5 students across the nation. The team is also poised for long-term development of new core elementary ELA products. The Executive Director of Elementary ELA Content is the day-to-day leader of this growing CKLA content team. They set priorities, scope and staff work, and develop team members. The Executive Director is also viewed as the point person on content priorities and questions for key partner teams (e.g., sales, marketing). They will work with the CAO, the GM, and other team leads to set vision and priorities for the elementary core curriculum and lead the team to execute on these priorities.
Responsibilities of the Executive Director - ELA Content:
Set priorities for elementary language arts core curriculum offerings: Synthesize market needs and trends, using them to shape recommendations for product enhancements, ensuring top-tier elementary language arts curriculum products and features in English and Spanish. Evaluate adoption specifications and state trends to determine where our content teams should allocate resources in order to support growth and new business. Offer strategic input for new elementary core offerings and work collaboratively with design leads and Director, K-8 Humanities Product to envision and develop those offerings. Ensure that content development aligns with the Amplify DEI commitment statement and editorial guidelines.
Support collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product vision, quality, and marketability: Ensure the development and maintenance of a premier elementary language arts offering. Work closely with bids, sales and other teams to build awareness of product value and oversee the content team's collaboration with all stakeholders. Collaborate with the CAO & GM to ensure product market fit aligns with broader business goals and cross product initiatives. Provide timely communication of product development to support the organization with revenue opportunities.
Ensure production of high-quality content: oversee PreK-5 content development, including the product's editorial process. Develop instructional models for content, oversee text and content domain selection, support writers in the development of high-quality content, and review content for accuracy, consistency and quality. Develop and maintain an effective editorial process and workflow, ensuring timely and efficient errata management and maintenance. Develop and implement product-level style guides promoting discipline and consistency with other Amplify products.
Build and develop elementary content and editorial teams: scope hiring needs based on product deliverables. Recruit, hire, and manage internal and external content and editorial staff. Develop a coherent, consistent onboarding experience. Ensure recruiting and hiring align with Amplify's DEI goals and commitments. Oversee ongoing professional development aligned to team and product needs. Build and maintain an organizational structure that allows individuals to grow and provides leverage for the ED. Develop team members, coaching as needed to prepare them for new opportunities and continued growth.
Basic Qualifications of the Executive Director - ELA Content:

  • Degree in education or related field
  • 5+ years in content and/or product development
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record of excelling at cross-functional collaboration
  • People management experience supervising varying levels of content and/or editorial team members
  • Proven experience leading large-scale complex education projects involving multiple partners including planning, budgeting, prioritizing, and running work streams across key partners.


Preferred Qualifications of the Executive Director - ELA Content:

  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Experience working in language arts or early literacy
  • 3+ years of teaching experience
  • Graduate degree in elementary education or related field
