Position Overview:

The Editorial Manager/Content Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations and is responsible for developing and coordinating content and communications to support Amwell's clients (hospitals/health systems, health plans/insurers, and other strategic partners in the healthcare space) and marketing efforts. Working in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Operations Manager and teams across Amwell's marketing department, the Editorial Manager ensures that all short- and long-form content meets our high standard and that our content operation runs smoothly and efficiently. The candidate will be an experienced writer and editor who is highly organized and possesses superior project management skills.


Core Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the content production and quality assurance process, coordinating contributions and stakeholder review from across the marketing department
  • Conceiving, developing, and editing editorial content for websites, blog posts, emails, push notifications, social media, flyers, and digital advertising channels
  • Collaborating cross-functionally in content planning and strategy discussions, ensuring that content is engaging, on-brand, and appropriately differentiated across channels and audiences
  • Serving as an editorial content subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and client marketing managers
  • Brainstorming concepts and developing content for marketing campaigns and patient education, in partnership with the design, email marketing, social media, and client marketing teams
  • Ongoing optimization of content strategy, quality, and process efficiency
  • Copyediting and proofing content to ensure quality and consistency in voice and tone
  • Managing Amwell's editorial style guide

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of content or communications experience, preferably in the Healthcare domain
  • Experience with editorial workflows, content management, and production
  • Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS)
  • Superior copywriting, editing, communication and storytelling skills
  • Project management experience i.e. Asana 
  • Creative and energetic problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and deliver high-quality content
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, and a "let's get this done" attitude
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
