As Director of Community Content, you will develop strategies to attract, engage, and motivate talented individuals to develop hands-on projects and other content types. You will lead a team of Program and Community Managers to grow Coursera’s community of creators, and incentivize them to develop and maintain high quality content that delivers value to millions of learners around the world. Your vision and leadership will be critical in driving success of a highly cross-functional effort - you will collaborate with Product, Data Science, Content Strategy, Teaching & Learning, and company Leadership to refine operational, go-to-market, and product strategies. You will report into the Senior Vice President of Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a vision and strategy to cultivate a robust community of creators that can generate high quality learning content at scale
  • Use experiments and tests to make data-driven decisions on content format, topic selection, content design, and delivery
  • Drive strategies and processes to optimize for content value, velocity, and cost
  • Be a strong internal owner and advocate for Community health and growth - deeply understand Community motivations, work with Product Managers and other cross-functional team leaders to scope platform feature development and incentive system
  • Define key success metrics and align with cross-functional teams on ownership and dependencies
  • Provide performance feedback and career coaching to a team of talented individuals

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experienced people leader with 4+ years of experience recruiting and developing talents
  • Background in developing and growing online communities. Familiarity with community management best practices
  • Prior experience working in data-driven environment 
  • Demonstrated history of influencing cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong strategic and analytical thinker with data proficiency and operations mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience with content creator communities
  • College degree in STEM disciplines, especially in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment 
  • Proficiency with online technologies and tools
